Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
That's the WowzaBox approach.
At WowzaBox, we're committed to minimizing our environmental footprint. We carefully select our packaging materials to ensure they are as sustainable as possible. Here’s how you can recycle the various components of our meal kits:
Paper Bags, Cardboard Trays, and Boxes
The paper bags used for our noodles, along with the cardboard trays and boxes, are 100% recyclable. Simply place them in your kerbside recycling bin, and they’ll be ready for a new life.
Plastic Trays
Our plastic trays are made from recycled PET and are widely recyclable. Just make sure to clean them before placing them in your regular plastic recycling bin. Clean recycling is crucial, as contamination can hinder the recycling process and reduce the quality of recycled materials.
Plastic Film
The plastic film that seals our meals is not yet recyclable kerbside in most areas, though some councils have begun to accept it. However, you can clean the film and take it to your local supermarket where it can be recycled with carrier bags.
Plastic Sauce Containers and Lids
Our sauce containers and lids are made from PP5 plastic, which is widely recyclable. Please ensure they are thoroughly cleaned before recycling them with your usual plastics.
Insulating Liner
The insulating liner in our packaging is made from biodegradable sheep’s wool. Once removed from its plastic wrapper, the wool will naturally degrade in landfill. Some of our customers have found creative ways to reuse it, such as insulating pipes, plant pots, and beehives, or lining hanging baskets.
The plastic wrapper is made from polyethylene and can be recycled at your local supermarket’s plastic bag recycling point or through some council recycling programs.
Ice Packs
To keep your meals chilled, we use ice packs. After emptying the water, the plastic bag, made from polyethylene, can be recycled at your local supermarket or through certain council recycling services.
Meat Vacuum Pack
Like many large supermarkets and food companies, our meat vacuum packs are made from multi-layer plastic, which, unfortunately, is not currently recyclable.
Stickers
Our stickers are made from polypropylene; they are recyclable and widely accepted.

Our Commitment
As a small startup, we’re dedicated to making our packaging as eco-friendly as possible. We’ve chosen recyclable plastic trays and 100% recyclable cardboard trays for our vegetables without sauce, ensuring that 95% of our packaging is recyclable. However, due to our current purchasing power and sourcing limitations, a few non-recyclable materials remain necessary for us at this stage.
This is where we are right now, but we are continuously striving to improve. As technology advances and industry standards evolve, our goal is to achieve 100% recyclable packaging for all our products. Progress is being made, and as we grow, we will keep you informed on our journey to reduce the environmental impact of our meal kits.
